We started Youtine because of a quiet, familiar feeling: that one person in a household is usually holding everything in their head. The appointments, the forms, the shopping, the birthdays, the sports kit. The remembering.

This blog is where we’ll write about that (the mental load) and the small, practical ways families can share it.

What you can expect here

We’re not going to add to your to-do list. Expect short, honest pieces on things like:

  • How the mental load actually gets divided (and why it so often doesn’t)
  • Gentle routines that hold up on the hard days
  • What we’re learning as we build Youtine

Why it matters

Research from the University of Bath and University of Melbourne found that 71% of household mental-load tasks fall on one person. That imbalance is invisible, which is exactly what makes it hard to fix.

Naming it is the first step. Sharing it is the next.

Share the mental load, not just the tasks.

More soon.
